MAUI GROM’S HIDEAWAY
B&B # BBPH20140002
Grom’s Hideaway is a cozy 3 bedroom, plantation-style cottage in Kuau. There’s a large, double, outdoor shower and a new indoor shower, wifi, flatscreen, gated parking, and a feeling of true Hawaii. The master bedroom has A/C and there are fans throughout. This is the Northshore, just one lot away from the Pacific. Surfing, windsurfing, and SUP are a minute’s walk away. Check conditions at Lanes (kite spot) from the Kuau keyhole. If it’s good, you’re there in two minutes. Famous Ho’okipa Beach Park is four minutes away. Or, walk to kid-friendly Mama’s Beach right in the neighborhood. This is convenient, waterman, comfortable living in a quiet, family oriented neighborhood.

The house was gorgeous!! We just absolutely adored the house, the beach within walking distance, and the town of Paia nearby. 10 out of 10 for sure!
Perfect stay in Paia
We enjoyed the home- it was comfortable for our family of four, the neighborhood was great and just a block or two to Mama’s beach and easy access to the rest of the island and great food in Paia. The property manager was very helpful and accessible and the owners incredibly hospitable and shared the Aloha spirit. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo!
House in Paia

Family spent a week in 3 bedroom home in Paia. Nice neighborhood, close to Beach and town of Paia. Beautiful Baldwin beach is jut 5 min drive away and smaller beach a 2 min walk. House was great. Owners live next-door and are quick to help with anything required.
Relax, you’re home!

Landed 1.5 miles to Costco, 5.0 miles to Groms. Walk 400 meters and see our first turtle on a beautiful sandy beach! Grom’s is in a small neighborhood so two close beaches are almost private. Grom’s is a cute clean straightforward beach house. Kitchen had all we needed. Outdoor shower is THE BEST!! You probably will want to rent a car, (National join the Emerald Club) since ‘town’ is only 1 mile away but not very walkable to get there. In Paia town, groceries at Mana, kalua pork pizza at Flatbread, kabobs a few doors down from Mana. And have a dinner at Mama’s – walking distance from Grom’s and absolutely delicious! All 5 of us loved Grom’s and Paia and are already looking to book our next stay!
Perfect spot for Paia

This is a great location to be close to Paia town, but in a quiet neighborhood. Super easy small beach access and awesome corner store (organic juice bar, coffee, deli, etc) within walking distance. Managers of the house were super friendly and helpful.

We had an awesome time at Grom’s Hideaway with great access to Mama’s Beach just a 2 minute walk away where we snorkeled with turtles. We watched world class windsurfing from the cliffs of Ho’okipa which was just round the corner. Then it was a 5 minute drive into Paia for supplies, dinner and hanging out. Loved this plavce and hope to get back
Perfect spot for family with 3 kids
We had a comfortable, relaxing stay at Grom’s Hideaway. Fall asleep/wake up hearing waves crash on the shore. Owner Mike is next door and is helpful with anything you might need- including beach suggestions anywhere on the island. Kuau convenience store is steps away with fresh coffee, organic food, deli, beer and wine.

We like to stay in Kuau and windsurf there. This was ideal.
Nice place to hide!
Maui Grom’s Hideaway offered us an unforgettable home along the Maui North Shore. Some of the many advantages are the easy beach-access for a quick ocean dive or surfsession, the shop nearby, the enclosed large parkingside, the hippy village Paia nearby and the stars above your head while taking a shower. Sportsgear can easily be rinsed off and stored in the garden. The house is comfortable and reflects the charm of an old plantation house. The livingroom is larger than we had expected from the photo’s. The absolute bonus is that Mike and Jody are very kind and generous hosts. They share with you their knowlegde of and passion for the island, as well as their home grown fruits. It’s a perfect location for those who like to explore the large range of outdoor-activities on Maui.

Besides being a great spot and well maintained home, the owners were beyond gracious, welcoming and accommodating. This was a lovely stay. Thank you.

We traveled to Maui with our three adult “children”. This was a great location with beds for all and all the amenities one could want/need. The owners were fantastic “hosts” and made our overall Paia/Maui experience magical. This was a first Hawaii visit for three of us- could not have been more pleased.

If you come to Paia, you will find out what we mean…and Grom’s Hideaway is certainly the best place to …We were 5 adults coming from the hawaii ironman and we had (only) 6 days there.Everything perfect. Cleanliness, equipment in the kitchen for cooking, internet and TV, lovingly decorated …The house is more beautiful than the pictures suggest. Felt at home immediately.
When we come back, we will stay here again.
Megan from the rental agency was easy to work with. The owners, Mike and Jodi, live next door to the rental property and were very helpful and friendly. Two of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The houses’ location near Pa’ia was a perfect place to venture out from, no matter which part of Maui you are heading out to see. Pa’ia is a quirky surfer town on the north shore and has some of the best places to eat on the island. The Pa’ia Fish Market and Flatbread Pizza were very good. The health food market was outstanding for being a non-chain food store. And the people watching in Pa’ia was crazy fun.We enjoyed the outdoor shower the most. Also, being able to cook at home made things more affordable and this house has very ample space for a couple of people preparing food without running into each other. Mike offers up fresh fruit from his own yard and lets you barrow items for the beach. And he knows what he is talking about when it comes to which beach is best for the current conditions. Mike and Jodi really made our first stay to Maui very exceptional. When we do come back to Maui, we will try to stay here again.
Great location and home!

My wife and I spend 5 nights at Grom’s Hideaway and loved every minute. The location was great for going to Hana, Haleakala and many beaches within minutes. Being able to walk to Mama’s Fish House and the Kuau Store for a coffee, sandwich or grocery items was very convenient. The owners live next door and are very nice and available for questions and have coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkel gear available to borrow. The house was clean and in good shape.

Spent 5-days with wife and teenage daughter, and truly enjoyed the clean-well maintained home with nice outdoor shower. Mike the owner, and his wife, live next door to the rental and were accessible and extremely personable. Great to work with and always available to enhance our stay and experience. Mike took us paddle boarding, allowing us to use his equipment and also gave us personal lessons since no one in our family had prior experience. We found the property to be exceptional value and comfortable. Our day-long trip to Hana in our Ford Mustang convertible was so enjoyable and the use of Mike’s travel cooler and recommended sites simply added to the personal touch that he constantly added to assure that our stay was meeting our expectations.
